AIRPORT


Geneva International Airport ist the second largest airport in Switzerland. It is located 4 km north west from the city of Geneva. The most important destinations are: 

London, Paris, Zurich, Amsterdam and Brussels. The major airlines are the national airline Swiss, the budget airline EasyJet and Etihad Regional, wich operate a hub at the airport. Geneva is also a important location fore VIP flying and makes profit from many international organizations, wich have there headquarters in greater Geneva. Immediately southeast of the airport adjacent is the Geneva Palexpo Exhibition Centre where also the famous Geneva Motor Show takes place. The Airport has a underground railway station with links to the city centers and important swiss cities. The Airport opening in the Year 1922.

The Airport has over 14 million passengers per year, 2 passenger terminals and 1 runway. A third terminal is already being planned.

Since the airport is directly adjacent to French territory, an agreement was signed with France, bevore which passengers flying to French destinations, can come on board to cross without Swiss customs territory. Therefore, the airport has a French sector, which can be reached from France directly through a road tunnel.
